Partnered with Group CEO and senior leaders, providing strategic HR to define and execute an expansive, multi-business strategy including US$50m in-bound private equity investment in an entrepreneurial (re)insurance & underwriting group with revenues of US$150m and 400 staff.

Acted as advisor to Group Remuneration Committee, supported redesign of Executive Directors’ remuneration and introduced a group and underwriter-specific LTIP.

HSBC

Partnered with the global CEO of Commercial Banking to deliver a new global business and HR strategy for this global division with US$7billion PBT and 25,000 employees in 64 countries.
Delivered organisational change with three co-heads in a move from a regionally-managed to a globally-led business in a new head office.
Delivered talent strategy for senior leadership to address under-investment in people. Led organisational effectiveness project with significant de-layering and improved spans of control. NetZeroYou2 @ Swiss Re

Securing a $15m investment from the Group, developed and led the NetZeroYou2 programme, which won the Best CSR/ESG Initiative at the 2022 Business Culture Awards and Best Employee Initiative at the 2022 ESG Awards, not just because of the impact the initiative had on colleagues and our planet, but because it championed a different way of doing change – that was purposeful, people-centric, co-created, genuinely iterative and that challenged the status quo!

Working with the Clinical Director and the Senior Leadership Team, developed a new strategy to grow profitability and increase focus on the big things that matter. Implemented a new rolling operating plan to engage the team, leading to improved revenues and profitability

Drove data-led strategic people planning, implemented effective new organisation design and structures, led global footprint changes to access new markets and reduce costs and championed skills development to enable complex global digital transformation of Swiss Re.

Acted as strategic partner to the Group COO with a mandate to deliver significant savings and improve organisation effectiveness. Transitioned over 5000 colleagues to fully agile ways of working. Championed a significant cultural shift, enabling operational excellence, faster pace of delivery and team empowerment.

Led the EMEA HR function and shifted the HR focus from task focus to a progressive, purpose-led approach using a strategic narrative and ‘Our Little Book of Why’ to bring the required change to life. Improved HR engagement by 30 points to 84% to AON top-quartile, improved internal client satisfaction ‘net promoter score’ by 63 points to an NPS of +50 and delivered agility index scores 18 points above group.

Nottingham Building Society

Following the appointment of a new CEO with Board support for a compelling growth strategy, delivered a focused People Strategy and a new set of leadership expectations aligned to the Society’s blueprint, developed the HR Momentum Plan, strategic people planning and talent frameworks. Partnered with the CEO and Chief of Staff to develop a new operating rhythm and provided strategic insight into ExCo effectiveness and development.
